Help for Moms

Younglife has launched YOUNGLIVES, offering hope to teen moms.  During CLUB  there is food, activities, laughter, music, childcare, and messages about real life! Learn skills! Make new friends! Experience support and significance! Being pregnant and becoming a young mom can be tough and we are here to help. YOUNGLIVES meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at CENTER OF HOPE, 74 N. Oakland Ave. Sharon, PA  16146 (724/981-hope).

Mom 2 Mom is a free program being offered by Center of Hope (formerly Pregnancy Services of Western PA). Women with young children, ages 0-4 can enjoy a relaxing evening with new friends, dinner, planned activities/programs such as  speakers, cooking, movies and crafts. Being a mom is hard work, so plan to join us at Mom 2 Mom the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month from 6pm to 8pm at the Center of Hope, 74 N. Oakland Ave., Sharon.  Childcare is provided at First Presbyterian Church (600 E. State Street, Sharon)

Helping the Hungry

  • Community Food Warehouse of the Shenango Valley provides low cost and nutritional food products in continuing and sufficient volume to its member agencies who are addressing food insecurity issues that affect the unemployed, underemployed, and needy throughout Mercer County. The Warehouse does not supply food directly to clients, but solicits local grocers, retailers, and food manufacturers for affordable/low cost food products and warehouses them for its member agencies.

Saturday Free Lunches

  • Join us the 2nd Saturday of each month at St. John’s Episcopal Church from 11am to 1pm. If you would like to assist in preparing food, RSVP.

Meals On Wheels

  • Shenango Valley Meals On Wheels needs 29 volunteers daily, five days a week to provide meals. Volunteers can choose the day or days during the week or month.  Kitchen helpers (no cooking necessary) work 8AM-11:30AM and assist in making sandwiches, pack lunch bags and assist in packing soup and hot meals.  Drivers and runners are needed to deliver the meals to twelve routes within a ten mile radius of Christ Lutheran Church, 396 Buhl Blvd., Sharon.  If you are unfamiliar with the route, an experienced driver or runner will be assigned to you.  If you are interested in this rewarding experience, please call 724-342-2042 or email mealsonwheels396@verizon.net between 8AM-1PM or leave a message after those hours.
