Covenant Presbyterian Church is located on the Pennsylvania Ohio border approximately one hour from Erie and Pittsburgh.

Our mission & vision is to reach those who search and build those who believe. We fulfill this call to be a fully functioning church community.
We value learning more of His truth which transforms lives through various studies, classes and small groups.  We also believe He gave us one another so we welcome fellowship times as special gifts when friendships can encourage and refresh us.
We invite you to become an active part of God’s Covenant Church family, as we celebrate the new life we enjoy in Jesus Christ who is with us.  We hope you join in the great things happening in Covenant Church.
We are a PresbyterianReformedEvangelicalMissional Church as expressed through the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC). Covenant Church joined the EPC in 2012.
  • We believe in one God, the sovereign Creator and Sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. To Him be all honor, glory and praise forever!
  • Jesus Christ, the living Word, became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. He who is true God became true man united in one Person forever. He died on the cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. On the third day He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High Priest and Mediator.
  • The Holy Spirit has come to glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to our hearts. He convicts us of sin and draws us to the Savior. Indwelling our hearts, He gives new life to us, empowers and imparts gifts to us for service. He instructs and guides us into all truth, and seals us for the day of redemption.
  • Being estranged from God and condemned by our sinfulness, our salvation is wholly dependent upon the work of God’s free grace. God credits His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation, thereby justifies them in His sight. Only such as are born of the Holy Spirit and receive Jesus Christ become children of God and heirs of eternal life.
  • The true Church is composed of all persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ and the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit are united together in the body of Christ. The Church finds her visible, yet imperfect, expression in local congregations where the Word of God is preached in its purity and the sacraments are administered in their integrity; where scriptural discipline is practiced, and where loving fellowship is maintained. For her perfecting, she awaits the return of her Lord.
  • Jesus Christ will come again to the earth—personally, visibly, and bodily—to judge the living and the dead, and to consummate history and the eternal plan of God. “Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20).
  • The Lord Jesus Christ commands all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to make disciples of all nations. Obedience to the Great Commission requires total commitment to “Him who loved us and gave Himself for us.” He calls us to a life of self-denying love and service. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
We believe the Westminster Confession of Faith to be the expression of the teachings of Scripture.

March 15, 2018

The Pastoral Search Committee offered the Sr. Pastor position to a candidate and he has accepted. The Session has called a congregational meeting following worship on April 8th to hear the report of the search committee, to vote on the call and the terms of the call for the committee’s choice for our next Sr. Pastor. The candidate will lead worship that Sunday. We will also vote to elect our 2018 Officer Nominating Committee at that same congregational meeting. We aren’t yet able to share more information about the candidate so that we may be sensitive to his current church. That information will be announced at least a week before the 8th.
There will be opportunities on Saturday, April 7th for the congregation to meet the candidate: 9:00am-10:30am & 6:00pm-7:30pm. We will have light refreshments, so please RSVP

We have now been in contact with 38 possible candidates for the next pastor of Covenant Church. Ten of those are still under consideration. Please continue praying for the committee as we discern God’s will for our next pastor.

September 21, 2017

We have now been in contact with 27 possible candidates for the next pastor of Covenant Church. We had been focusing on one particular candidate for most of August and September and were very excited about what appeared to be the perfect fit for Covenant. We found out late last week that the Lord closed that door. We were very disappointed but trust and know that God is in control of all. We are refocusing our efforts to other candidates. Please continue praying for the committee as we discern God’s will for our next pastor.

August 10, 2017

To date we have been in contact with around 25 possible candidates for the next pastor of Covenant Church. We have been studying and praying over them and have listened to many recorded sermons. We have taken the next step with a few candidates that we believe are a possible fit for the needs of Covenant by way of conference call and skype. We have been focusing on one particular candidate the last few weeks. We are still very early in these steps but trust that God is directing our steps. Please continue praying for the committee as we discern God’s will for our next pastor.

The Church Information Form(CIF) is completed, approved, and made available on the EPC website ( to pastors who are seeking positions. We have also begun sending that to candidates who have been referred to us.
If you have any candidates in mind please refer them to a committee member, contact the church office, or direct them to the EPC web site. Referrals are quite often the means of finding the correct candidate.

We have already received some Pastor Information Forms (PIF’s) and have begun studying them. Please pray that we will ask the appropriate questions, have the appropriate answers, and be able to discern God’s will for Covenant.

March 30, 3017

The committee has been meeting now for 2 months. In that time we have had meetings with Pastor Makari, Pastor Chris Curtis who is our liaison from the presbytery, and Pastor Bob Stauffer who also works for the presbytery. All of them have been extremely helpful in getting us headed down the right track.

We have spent time in prayer and bible study together at our meetings. We also covet your prayers. We believe we have been called to an important and difficult task that we cannot succeed in unless we are in tune with the leading of the Holy Spirit. Please be praying that God makes us aware of the qualifications needed at Covenant and who He has called to be our pastor.

We should have the Church Information Form(CIF) completed in the next few weeks. That is what we make available to pastors who are seeking positions. It is a 12 page document that describes the position, the characteristics of Covenant Church, and the characteristics we are seeking in a pastor. That will have to be approved by session before it is posted.

After the CIF is complete we must spend time refining the profile of the candidate we are seeking so that when we start evaluating candidates we are unified in the qualifications that we are seeking. Please pray that we will ask the appropriate questions, have the appropriate answers, and be able to discern all of that as it happens.
