Why fundraise
Glad you asked! Mission trip fundraising follows the examples of missionaries in the Bible like Paul. This allows for more people to be involved in our trip than just ourselves. Missions is a spiritual battlefield so the more people involved in support the better! Fundraising also allows us to see God at work as we trust in him to provide for what we need, an excellent practice for the mission field.

How to fundraise
Below are three easy steps to fundraising for these trips. Follow them in order. Once you have completely raised your funds, you do not need to keep going unless you want to…

1) Support letter. We ask every student that goes on the trip start their fundraising by sending out a letter to at least 5 households asking for money/prayer support. Matthew will give specific coaching on how to do this well, but to start check out this instruction sheet!
2) Hire a student. If your support letter have not raised the support you need by mid-May, Matthew will work with you to pair you with a member of the church for whom you could work in return for money for the trip.
3) Fundraising. We will put a date in late May/early June where we will have a church-wide yard/bake sale for raising whatever funds we need. Only those who participate will receive these funds toward their trip.
