philly mission trip

July 24-30 for rising 9th-12th grade

What is the Philadelphia Project?
The Philadelphia Project is Christian non-profit that has been at work in Philadelphia for 10 years now. They partner with local churches and services to minister to low-income and struggling populations in the northwest neighborhoods of the city. To read more about the vision and what can be expected on this trip, check out https://thephillyproject.org/

What will my student be doing on the trip?
Big Creek offers each team the opportunity to focus on one of four areas of service depending on the talents and giftings of each group. So we could be doing either construction, church ministry, kids ministry, or mercy ministry depending on the make-up of our team. Each day while on the trip will include worship, Bible study, service projects, and fun activities. Philadelphia Project will also provide training while there on all aspects of the community service so that your student will be well-prepared for each day as well as for any opportunities back at home to serve.

What logistics do I need to know about the trip?
Once you register, you will receive direct communication from Matthew about a packing list, times of departure and arrival, and other forms you will need to fill out for your child’s safety. Matthew and other trusted adult leaders will be your student’s drivers and chaperones during the trip. You will receive a leader contact list before the trip as well as your student will not be allowed to have their cell phone on during the trip.
